Aaron Copland’s “Hoe-Down” is one of the most exuberant and instantly recognizable movements from Rodeo, the 1942 ballet he composed for Agnes de Mille. Drawing on American fiddle tunes and dance rhythms, Copland created a sound world that is both rustic and brilliantly theatrical. Here is James’ transcription for organ solo.
