“Buckaroo Holiday” opens Aaron Copland’s ballet Rodeo with sweeping confidence, rhythmic snap, and unmistakable American character. Written in 1942 for choreographer Agnes de Mille, the ballet helped define Copland’s populist style: open, energetic, vividly orchestrated, and rooted in the sounds and spirit of American life.
